Baseload Energy Use: Gas and electricity consumed to power a household for day-to-day operations.
Seasonal Energy Use: The energy consumed to power the heating and cooling systems of a home in response to changing weather conditions.
If you see a Water Smart Inc product with the Baseload Reduction label, you can be confident that it will help contribute to drastic reductions in the baseload energy use for your home.
WaterSense®: An Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-sponsored partnership program launched in 2006 to encourage water efficiency and further develop the market for water-efficient products, programs, and services.
In order to help protect the US's future water supply, WaterSense partners with manufacturers, retailers and distributors, and utilities to help bring WaterSense labeled products to the market.
The EPA establishes specifications for water efficient products. Manufacturers submit their innovative products for third-party testing to ensure they pass all performance criteria. Eligible products that successfully pass this testing process receive the right to place the WaterSense label on the product.
By purchasing a WaterSense labeled product, you can be assured that the product is a high-performance, high-efficiency water saving product.
ENERGY STAR: A joint program between the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE) to help consumers save money through energy efficient products and programs.
The program began as a voluntary initiative to help demonstrate the opportunity for reduction in greenhouse gas emissions through the implementation of energy efficient products and practices. This voluntary labeling program was designed to help consumers identify energy efficient products that meet the specifications set forth by the EPA and DOE. ENERGY STAR now provides a label to over 60 product categories with products that deliver the same performance as comparable models, while using less energy and saving you money.
CSA International®: A leading provider of product testing and certification services.
CSA International examines products to ensure conformance to national and international standards. Qualifying products that pass the testing process are issued certification marks which serve to inform consumers that the product complies with appropriate standards for safety and performance.
The CSA mark displayed above contains the "C" and "US" indicators. These indicators inform consumers that the product has been certified for both US and Canadian markets and complies to all applicable standards.
